THE REGIONAL CONFERENCE
On October 17, 2009, our church hosted the sixth regional conference, attended by ministers and workers from the churches of Amara, Slobozia (no.1 and 2), Smirna, Gheorghe Lazar, Urziceni, Boranesti and Moldoveni. After a welcome message from Costel Gramada, regional pastor, the worship team of Urziceni church led the whole assistance in worship. Our brothers in Christ, Tavy Bruma and Nicu Sandu led the participants in prayer. After a short coffee and tea break, we continued with the second part of the conference. The conference theme was: “Revival in the church and the role of the vision in a revival”. Before Pastor Costel Gramada introduced the conference theme, elder Daniel Groza delivered a message entitled “Climbing the mountain in the presence of the Lord”. Then, the conference theme was developed on three important directions: 1) Necessity of revival; 2) Evidence of revival; 3) Steps to revival. After the message, the ministers and workers made suggestions on how to make their ministry more efficient. They all admitted in the end that the difficulties come up not because the area in which they serve the Lord is difficult, but because some workers’ ministry is visionless and inadequate. The participants emphasized the need of a youth leader/pastor for the whole region, and they suggested that such a youth leader be elected at the next conference. We are now praying that the Lord will guide us in choosing the right leader. At the end of the conference, we shared a fellowship meal provided by the host church. The next regional conference will be organized on December 12, 2009, at Amara.
WATER BAPTISM
On September 27, our church celebrated a special event: four people publicly confessed their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and dedicated themselves to serve Him for the rest of their lives. Among the four candidates for water baptism was the pastor’s youngest daughter, Rebeca Luisa. Brother Gerard Kamba, from Congo, shared the Gospel, and the water baptism was performed by Pastor Costel Gramada and Nicu Sandu, deacon in our church.

MISSION AND SCHOOL
On September 13, during the church service, our congregation celebrated two special events:
1) visit of a missionary couple to Turkey – Nicolae Iacob and his wife, Lidia – sent to serve the Lord by Betel Church, Constanta, Romania. We were excited to hear of their dedicated service among Turkish Christians and became motivated to financially support their mission even more than before. The two missionaries showed us a brief presentation about Turkey and their involvement in that country. Then, brother Iacob shared the Gospel. The church received spiritual edification and nurturing.
2) The second special event was the beginning of a new school year. Pastor Costel Gramada prayed for all the children in the church, asking for God’s blessing, guidance and protection for them. The pastor declared in the Name of our Lord Jesus that all the children be the head, and not the tail, in character, behaviour and learning.

.
OUTREACH PROGRAM IN URZICENI WITH „HRISTIC” MISSION GROUP
On August 9, „Hristic” Mission Group from Spain had a special outreach program. The special guest was Pastor Nelu Horodinca, who shared the Gospel. The audience had the opportunity to hear the message of life and be confronted with their need of salvation and personal forgiveness. We pray that the seed of the Word that was planted that day grow and be fruitful.
FOUR DAYS OF PRAYER AND FASTING AT URZICENI PENTECOSTAL CHURCH
Our church organized four days of prayer and fasting (January 27-30). Eighty percent of our church members were present at each meeting and we all felt the special presence and anointing of the Holy Spirit. On January 28, we had some guests (singers and workers) from the church of Barbulesti, who joined us in prayer. Each day we experienced so much joy and spiritual renewal. We are now waiting on the Lord to answer our church prayers and fasting by pouring down on us more of His grace and bringing forth spiritual awakening over His work in this area. May the Lord of the harvest send forth more and more laborers into His harvest fields of Baragan!
REGIONAL PASTORAL CONFERENCE IN AMARA
On January 24, at Amara Pentecostal Church, a regional conference was dedicated to God’s laborers from the whole county of Ialomita (Urziceni, Barbulești, Slobozia, Amara, Fetești and Tandarei). The theme of the conference, which was organized by the regional pastor Costel Gramada, was “Unity and cooperation in serving God”.
The monthly regional conferences scheduled for the year 2009 have various objectives, such as:
-
Elaborate a common vision of outreaching the whole county of Ialomita and set up a common strategy for putting this vision into practice.
-
Motivate each leader to equip church workers.
-
Encourage the leaders in their ministry and build them up to glorify God.
-
Build up churches from the county of Ialomita by alternatively organizing regional conferences. See also Christ for Ialomita.
2009 – A YEAR OF PREPARATION FOR OUR CHURCH
With all that is happening around us, both in Romania and in the whole world, we believe that we are living in the last days. The Bible tells us about the end-time signs which have been increasing in number and are more and more obvious with each passing day. What does the Church of Christ do while waiting for the Bridegroom to come? Amos 4:12 exhorts us to prepare to meet our God. The year 2009 will be for Urziceni Pentecostal Church a “Year of Preparation”. For each month, our church has assigned a theme appropriate with areas in which God expects us to be prepared to meet Him.
CELEBRATING NEW YEAR 2009 IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD
We celebrated New Year 2009 rejoicing and serving in the house of the Lord. On New Year’s Eve, we rededicated ourselves to God and entrusted our lives into His hands not only for a new year, but for the rest of our lives. At midnight, instead of sending off fire-cracks into the sky, we chose to lift our prayers up to the Lord, and instead of drinking a glass of champagne, we chose to tell God, as a congregation, that we love Him and want to renew our covenant with Him.
